Linda McCartney Vegan food range is here!

So finally, after drooling over many veggie posts, this range has arrived in South Africa. Checkers has stocked the sausage rolls, chorizo sausages, burgers, cocktail sausages and vegetarian sausages. The entire range is vegan but called vegetarian on the boxes- which are totally recyclable!

I indulged and stocked up as the opening price per pack was R25 and I foresaw an increase coming , which I hope I am wrong about!

Anyway, on Saturday we braaied and my LM burgers were on the grill and got some awesome colour and crunch. I popped them into a bun with b-well mayo - vegan mayo - great alternative to butter and mayo! My Avo salso is 1 green chilli, 2 avos chopped up and lime juice with salt to taste :)

I also love a good roasted onion topping for burgers- in the oven with olive oil, chunky slices of onions with some salt and seasoning- italian herb works well.

Assemble the lot as your heart desires and enjoy!!! I really loved the flavour profile and even though soya is used, you do not get the 'processed' food taste at all!

I am so excited for another international vegan brand to come to our shores. It shows that the demand for these meat alternatives has grown and is hopefully changing how people see their food :)
